Osterburg 2.0 - New Museum App attracts visitors to the castle

After the great success of the SaurierPfad Jena App the next digital knowledge trail is waiting for you since last weekend. With the Osterburg App we take visitors on a journey through the cradle of the Vogtland. At 16 stations exciting information and AR (Augmented Reality) projections are waiting to be discovered by young and old. An audio guide through the entire tour is also included in the free app, spoken by our CEO Hans Elstner. In the future, the digital tour will be complemented by further content such as 360-degree views, a quiz and, of course, further AR elements.
What can the 3D Museum App do?
- Family-friendly audio guide
- AR projections at two stations so far
- Free use on Android and Apple devices
- Why an AR App for museum tours?
Similar to the project SaurierPfad, the Osterburg App has the goal to seduce a larger audience to an excursion. Many innovative and interesting contents can be used to expand the exhibition. In this way, the project builds a bridge between the analogue and digital worlds. Audioguides and digital towers also make guided tours possible at any time - even if there is no staff on site. The exhibition appeals to children and thus also attracts parents and grandparents, who are also enthusiastic about the digital content.
Our good reputation precedes us
The "Friends of Osterburg" association has become aware of rooom AG through our lighthouse project SaurierPfad Jena. A concept should have been developed to attract more visitors to the beautiful castle. The plan for the digital exploration trail was quickly drawn up and within a few weeks the dream of an Osterburg App had become reality. The official release of the digital learning path through history took place on Saturday, 9 November. Now the app with its mascot Türmi can be downloaded for free. Try it out!
