Handelsblatt: Start-ups in the east of Germany fear disadvantages due to AfD rise

Read article in Handelsblatt (German )

rooom-CEO and Founder Hans Elstner was interviewed by the German Handelsblatt magazine. He was not only asked to give insights into the work, challenges and successes of rooom, but also to discuss the economic situation in our region from the perspective of a start-up founder.

"We offer a product that we sell not only in Thuringia, but all over the world. Foreign specialists broaden our horizons, which helps our corporate culture, product and internationalization." - Hans Elstner, CEO & Founder of rooom

With our headquarters in the university city of Jena, we have a permanent influx of (foreign) students. They not only bring a fresh breeze, but above all qualified specialist knowledge. Among other things, the Handelsblatt article deals with the shortage of skilled workers and how we can work together to counteract this. Our region needs to remain attractive for bright minds, and we would like to make it easy for them to stay in our economically up-and-coming region.

"People moving here look closely at where they can find their peers. And here in the eastern region of Germany there are hardly any urban centers with foreign workers. As start-ups, we need to promote our companies and locations more actively", said Elstner.

As an open-minded company, rooom AG is committed to making this possible. We are delighted with the diversity of our region and would like all to join us in ensuring that it remains attractive for bright minds and invites them to stay.
